All you need to know
At Clueden, we take Jewellery safety very seriously. We follow a strict safety procedure and Clueden jewellery has undergone thorough testing to comply with the laws of the countries we're selling to.
REACH Regulations
REACH stands for Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals, and is the EU Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006. This legislation has been put in place to make sure that there are no harmful substance in consumer products which are put on the market.
This regulation has various Annexes that relate specifically to jewellery, this includes articles such as rings, earrings, bracelets, body piercing items, necklets, chains and watch straps. Specifically, compliance with REACH means that the jewellery doesn't go above a certain content level for Nickel, Lead and Cadmium.
Clueden's jewellery is tested in line with the REACH regulations and sent to an accredited laboratory for testing so we guarantee that our jewellery comply with REACH and is free from Nickel, Lead and Cadmium.
Hallmarking
Clueden is also compliant with the hallmarking policy in place in the UK. The hallmarking is the process by which a piece of jewellery has been independently tested and verified and therefore conforms to all legal standards of purity or fineness.
This process guarantees you that Clueden's jewellery contains the right levels of Silver and Gold.

Children under the age of three
Our jewellery is very popular for newborn baby gifts. We recommend children under the age of 3 years of age be supervised at all times whilst wearing Clueden jewellery as small jewellery may present a choking hazard:
- Never leave a child under the age of three unattended while wearing jewellery.
- For their comfort and safety we recommend removing all jewellery before napping or bedtime.
- We recommend that your child only wears our children’s earrings after the initial healing/period has passed after piercing.
- Our jewellery uses materials which are naturally hypoallergenic and suitable baby's skin.
